Dental bridge
A dental bridge fills the space of one or more missing teeth by relying on the neighboring teeth or supports.
What this service is
A common type covers the abutment teeth and holds the missing tooth between them. That means the abutment teeth are prepared. If an abutment is sound and free of decay, an implant may be considered separately so the neighbor is not cut. A bridge is fixed and is not taken out at night.
When it may be considered
A limited gap with firm abutment teeth on both sides. Looseness, gum inflammation, or untreated decay in an abutment should be addressed first.
The general process
The abutments are prepared and an impression is taken. A temporary bridge may be placed. The final one is checked for color, fit, and whether floss can pass under the middle tooth.
Care and notes
An ordinary toothbrush does not reach under the middle tooth. Use superfloss or the special brush as shown. A bad smell or food that always catches means cleaning is not enough.
