Shape and color adjustment combines very limited contouring, tooth-colored material, or whitening so the teeth look more balanced.
What this service is
This is not one single treatment. It may mean shortening a long edge, closing a chip with composite, or reviewing the color of several natural teeth. The method depends on remaining enamel, the smile line, and gum health.
When it may be considered
It is for a mild uneven edge, a color difference between natural teeth, or limited smile asymmetry. A severe jaw discrepancy or crowded teeth is not solved by this appearance-only adjustment.
The general process
The smile and tooth proportions are examined. The plan may be one visit or several stages. If whitening is also needed, it is usually done before tooth-colored material is bonded, because that material does not lighten later.
Care and notes
Do not test a fresh edge with nails or hard food. Tell the clinic if a tooth becomes sensitive to cold. Daily cleaning stays the same as for a natural tooth.
