Oral hygiene guidance
Oral hygiene guidance adjusts brushing and cleaning between the teeth to the shape of your own mouth.
What this service is
The same advice does not fit everyone. Crowded teeth, orthodontics, a bridge, or an implant each need a different tool. Instruction sits beside treatment so plaque is removed where the problem starts.
When it may be considered
Repeated bleeding despite brushing, bad breath, cavities that keep forming between teeth, or the start of a longer treatment such as orthodontics or implants.
The general process
Your current method is watched, then a brush, floss, or interdental brush is practiced on your own teeth. A fluoride toothpaste may be suggested. The visit is short and usually involves no drilling or injection.
Care and notes
Brushing twice a day, spitting the toothpaste without rinsing straight away, and cleaning between the teeth once a day are the base. Mouthwash does not take their place. If the gum becomes sore, reduce the pressure rather than the number of times.
